The Passing Misty grey mornings, Like tears shed silently, For one taken so young, With God’s earth in his soul. No more he walks The hallowed sacred ground, But torments of what could have been, Smitten down by man’s own material. Lives shattered like glass breaking, Torn apart by the cruelty of time, Wasting away with no thoughts, Only the shell to remember by. How we mourn your passing, True depths go to earth’s core, Looking at the sprinkling stars, How infinitely quiet we are. I was privledged and honoured to be your Sergeant. You will never be forgotten.
Rob, You were a great opponent on the pitch and a true gentleman off it. Gone but not forgotten. RIP Peter
You were a few years behind me in school, rest in peace.
Bob, we will miss you. You always were a kind and thoughtful neighbour. Thank you for the memories, playing forty forty on Park Road, helping to build the swing on Frawn Hill and all the times you stuck up for us crawley girls against the boys on the road, who thought we sucked at football - alas, we did. Still you always let us play. May you rest in peace.
Not, how did he die, but how did he live? Not, what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer, To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away? Bob, your will be grately missed. To the McCallion Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Bob, you were a true mate, will miss seeing your happy head in Swinford and Letterkenny, will always remember dancing in Eyre Square during the Galway Races, after visiting all the chippers in Galway. We're all down a good wing man, sleep well buck. Colly
Bob - You are a Hero, you were a pleasure to know and will never be forgotten. You will always be in our Hearts. Rest In Peace
The English language has evolved over thousands of years and they still haven't come up with words to describe how much I am going to miss you. I was lucky to have had such a good friend in you and it was an honour to have played beside you on the football field in which you were an inspiration to all. Words are easy to say but I promise I will never ever forget you Bob. R.I.P. "Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay... Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker, For some the journey's slow. And when the journey finally ends, We'll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the lord" Your best friend, Aiden Mc

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Garda McCallion's Family and Friends on the loss of their Son, brother and friend. Goodbye to a great friend and a great team-mate. Always laughing, always positive, a mountain of memories for us to cherish. Watch over us.
Bob, you're safe in heaven now and i know you'll be looking down on everyone, taking care of your family and always smiling with that cheeky grin of yours! All the years we were in school together, you were always the "smiler" in the classroom, the funny tomboy and lets not forget in junior infants - that A-Team jumper you practically lived in until you grew out of it!! I always remember you loved your superheros in school but you gave your life being a Hero to us all, a Hero that Ireland is proud of...will never forget you Bob, our prayers are with you and your lovely family always x
I don't really even know where to begin, as the last week has passed by mind often drifts away to past memories....GAA games and dinner dances, the parties on Good Fridays, going to the cinema on Sundays, sitting in Campbell's chit chatting during the week, nights out in the White House and Julians...alot of years have passed since then but the memories will never fade. When I think about Bob, I think about what a great person he was....he never said a bad word about anyone, always had a smile and a wave, and always made you feel welcome. I am truly saddened by this passing and send my dearest condolences to the McCalllions.
Deepest sympathy to Robbies Fiancee, Family, Friends and fellow colleagues. Having trained with Robbie I know what a kind hearted person he was. Just back from the funeral, very emotional, very sad. As your brother said, you finally got your transfer back to Mayo, welcome home...
I never got to meet Robert in person but I live next door to his relations in Dublin and am very aware of the impact of his death on them and the rest of the neighbours. I can't even image what Bob, Nancy, his family and friends are going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all at this difficult time.
I met Robbie on my first day as a Garda reserve, I rang the bell in the public office and Robbie popped his head around, smiled and opened the door, he gave me the code for the door and asked if it was my first day and showed me where to go. Later that day I met him again in the canteen and he asked how my first shift had gone. Any time after that if I met him he would smile and ask me how I was doing. What a friendly guy he was, and he will missed by everyone.
AS I AM A FIREMAN WITH STRANORLAR I WORK SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE GUARDS S ON DIFFERENT OCCATION SO SAD SO SORRY AND WILL NEVER FORGET

There is a line that protects us from harm in all we do whether day or night There is a line no one can penetrate no one can alleviate There is a line made of those who choose to follow a calling many do not hear and still more do not comprehend They choose to walk the path of fear, hate, and mistrust taken by so few but marked by so many And when one leaves this line they leave a legacy but the line does not break for the remaining must still protect There may be emptiness a loss, or sadness but never a hole not in this line This line that holds the ghosts of the souls who have gone and the souls of the ghosts who will be The Thin Blue Line

Next time a cop stops you because you are driving too fast, Remember he saved you from that day being your last. He cares for you and he cares for me, He's out there hoping we will all see. He took a path not many would take, And he chose it for our sake. He's a remarkable soul, a Hero in the Night, When all is well, he's not in sight. But, if you ever need him, he'll be right there, Not just because he's a cop but because he cares

For just a few moments on that dark night, the people of Donegal were more important to Robbie than his own family and friends, protecting and serving a community and a country, and making the ultimate sacrifice as a member of An Garda Siochana. May he sleep gently, may god watch over him and treat him with the kindness and warmth he deserves. A keeper of the peace, taken so young, but Ireland as a country will never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made for us. A brother, a son, a friend, a garda, and now a hero to us all, sleep softly my friend.
Rest in Peace Robbie, you will always be remembered as a true hero to us all.
