Aww gary how could we forget the auld road trip to longford, shamin round in da auld almeara, such a lauf dat nite cannot for da life of me remember why u put me out of da car to b tackled by dat man, i woz only a child bac den. tank god ye came bac round for me. All the memories we have of you will surely put a smile on our face. gone but not forgotton. Rest in Peace Gary x x

Everytime i think of you Gary all I can think is of all those times we spent on the front lawn playing footie and you attempting to do a bycle kick and nearly breaking your back or the times we spent in the sitting room playing the playstation for hours. The best summers I ever had were in that house as a child God I'd give anything to go back to those days now. I'd give anything for us just to have one more game of ball outside with Enda kicking the hell out of you and Una roaring at us to mind her clean washing on the line. Miss you Gary

Awh man Gary i still cant believe ur gone! i expect to see ya coming down the hill in the integra! take care of everyone they need you now!! Was looking through old photos of when we were kids and went on holidays to achill! you and that bloody dog that just wandered in off the street! ya always went out of your way to wind me up and it worked too, you would think i'd of learned to ignore ya! i remember ya made me sit and watch some scary film when we were younger too and i went out to mam and your mam i was as white as a sheet and all you did was laugh!! typical! you stopped the car and asked me did i want a lift but just drove off laughing!! i was fuming! looking back now it makes me laugh.. so many good memories with ya even though most of them is of you annoying my head aha... i know for certain we'll meet again! should'nt have been you cuz, always in my heart, Rest in peace x x x x

Gary you'll never be forgotten! I guess only for you in templemore id never have known what lay in store! Its so wrong, so so wrong, you'll be missed alot from everyone around home! I dont think i ever seen you without a smile on your face! Look down on your family and girlfriend and all the boys in fengh and take care of them, they need you now more than ever! We'll meet again man that im sure of! It was a pleasure to know you!

His tragic and untimely death serves as another desperately sad reminder of the dangers which members of An Garda Siochana face, day in day out, in endavouring to keep us all safe. While nothing can be expected to console those who have been bereaved by his death, I hope they can draw whatever comfort they can from the fact that Gary lost his life while protecting the community which he served as part of the highest traditions of An Garda Siochana.

At this time my thoughts and prayers and those of the entire force are with the family, colleagues and friends of Garda McLoughlin. I trust that the other people injured in the collision including Garda McLoughlin's colleague will make a full recovery.

This is the second tragedy to befall the Donegal Garda Division this year highlighting in stark terms the dangers gardaí can face each day as they go about their work of policing and rendering assistance to the community."

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this death, it is indeed a dark day in the history of the force in Donegal. I offer my most sincere condolences to his immediate family in Ballinamore, County Leitrim and of course, his many friends and colleagues.

In April last, Garda Robbie McCallion also died in the line of duty in Letterkenny. This is another desperately difficult day for those who bravely keep law and order in our society.

Garry this is for u cant wait till da day i see u in heaven u will prob make fun of me but after i saw ur body all i can say is i will miss u and tank u for all da great memories u gave me in da past ur makin me cry writin this but cant believe ur gone god i hope u look after him. ur a top man who had a bright future sadly it was takin from u. But one more ting i have ta say is i always taught u wud be here well longer dan me and i know 2morrow is ur funeral which i know i will not be able to handle but one ting dat will get me through it is tinkin of u bein gary da smartass who always knew how ta annoy me!! miss u gary tomorrow is ur day and tank u for da great memories u are a hero!!!!!!!!!!! I want to extend my sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Garda Gary McLoughlin.

The entire community in Fenagh is shocked at the news of his death in Donegal while on duty.

It is absolutely tragic that a young man should lose his life in this way.

I want to offer my deep condolences to his mother and father Una and Noel, his sister Tracey and his brother Enda, and his grandparents.

Gary was a very pleasant young man who was hugely popular. His death will cast a shadow over Ballinamore this Christmas.

Gary was fatally injured while diligently serving in the line of duty. That shocks and saddens all of us. I offer my deepest sympathy to his father Noel, to his mother Una, to his brother and sister, and to his many friends. This is a very sad loss to the community.”

News of the young Garda’s death has shaken both the town of Buncrana and his home community in Fenagh, Co Leitrim, and I want to extend my sincerest sympathies to Mr McLoughlin’s family and friends.”

“I also want to express my sympathy to his colleagues in Buncrana. For a Garda’s life to be taken while he or she is carrying out their duty is especially terrible and it is a dreadful shock for the Garda community in the county, particularly following the death of Garda Robbie McCallion in Letterkenny earlier this year.”

Gary's death represents for all of us the huge price we are going to have to pay in this country to get our priorities right in ensuring our roads are safe for every one to travel regardless of what hour we make this journey.

Gary died trying to implement law and order on our dangerous roads and paid the ultimate price with his own life in trying to do so. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Gary and his colleagues in the tireless work they do on our behalf.

We also owe it to Gary's memory that we question our own driving habits, that we stop flashing lights at oncoming cars to alert them to a concealed patrol car; that we never, ever drink and drive and that we pass on to our children total 100 % respect for the law officers of this land.

It is a pleasure to have known Gary for the 6months he spent in Monaghan. You will never be forgotten for the sacrifice you have made. Thoughts and prayers are with your Family and Friends
