Life Story

Passionate about GAA Charlie enjoied horse riding and reading but most of all Charlie loved spending time with Cathal, Niamh, Phil and Aislinn and Mairead - playing football, hurling, basketball, going for a swim or a cycle . A family man in every way. Always a smile for friend and foe alike. Rarely angered and always caring. A devoted husband and a proud father. Our lives will never be as good again but we have our wonderful memories that no one can take away. The best friend I could ever have, My rock, my confident, my everything -we were two halves of ONE life, and it will never be the same with out. You're in our hearts forever xxxxxx

Story Time

Our Trip Up North   from Rebecca Flattery

One of my most vivid memories was when we took the train up the north to watch a meath game. You knew a man working in the trainstation so me, you and Cathal got moved up to first class on the sly...along came a lady offering breakfast which we happily took thinking it was part of being first class....the look on your face when the huge bill arrived was priceless! And to top it all off, Meath didn't even win !
You'll always be in our hearts x

The Bulgaria fella!  from Yanko Vasilev

Rest in Peace..With love...Yanko Vasilev..

Off with your buddies  from Kevin Kenny

Oh Charlie, you have no idea how much your friends miss you. Flas will never be the same without you, that beaming smile, the welcoming greeting 'Any Craic', the chats, the discussions, the slagging, and in more recent years, when you swapped your pint for a cup of coffe, and joined us on our side of the bar. Those famous Friday nights !
I have loads of great memories, but the most abiding one must be the time i spent with you and Ger one morning in Prague. We went for an early drink to cure a hangover, and as usual tried to solve all the problems of the world, needless to say nothing got solved not even the hangover, but it has to be the most enjoyable few hours i have ever spent in your company. We even caught the moment on camera. I will always remember you and most definitely never forget you.

Off with your buddies

Holidays

Warm Hearted  from David Beirne

Charlie was warm hearted person who brought a genuine kindness to the small village of Enfield, He will be deeply missed.

Madrid  from Laura Flattery

We went to Madrid in April. It rained all weekend but that didn't matter. We had each other and that was enough. We walked through the city in the rain, stoped for a cuppa and back to the hotel for dinner. All we ever needed was each other. You give my life meaning and reason. I love you my darling and I always will. Missing you every moment of every day. xxxxx

Charlie the protector  from Sandra Mahady

As Laura's friend, we go out socially and no matter where we went or whatever time it was,Charlie always turned up to give us a lift home. He would have been working but he never minded driving to pick us up and drop us home. He always wanted to make sure we got home safely, especially his precious wife Laura who he cared for and protected always. Charlie, I still expect to see your smiling face at the end of a night out.I know you will always watch over Laura and the kids and as her friend I will make sure she gets home safely and thats a promise xx

Phil's hill  from Phil Flattery

One day two years ago, when I was 6, Dad and I went for a cycle. We went on the back road to Kilrainey where there is a very steep hill. I had to get off the bike and walk up the hill but I hopped back on and went down the other side very fast! and I didn't fall off. Dad was so proud of me he called it Phil's Hill. I miss you Dad. x
